Getting Hosted at dotsrc.org

Do you "own" or participate in an Open Source software project? Do you also have special hosting requirements that can not be fulfilled by the "mainstream" hosters? Then you probably need a serious hosting partner that is able and willing to provide you with a fully customized setup, and dotsrc.org is exactly that. We can provide you with all the services you need for free. We only wish the best for your project!

Note: If you are new to open source development or don't have any concrete special requirements, you'll be most likely be better served by one of the "standard packages" offered by e.g. SourceForge, Savannah, Icculus or BerliOS.
A detailed comparison of hosting providers is available at http://www.ibiblio.org/fosphost/exhost.htm.

Applying - Step by Step

To apply for hosting please follow this simple procedure:

  1. Check out our policy to see if your project fits.
  2. Have a look at the list of services we currently provide. Don't go away just because you feel something is missing. Instead just request it together with your application, and we will see what we can do!
  3. Send a mail to staff@dotsrc.org, asking us about hosting and telling us about your project. We will evaluate your request as soon as possible. Please also include a short note on what special services you'd need or why you chose us over the "standard" hosters. That helps us tremendously with planning.

Please send any question you might have regarding dotsrc.org hosting to staff@dotsrc.org.
